Friday Round Up - The Donkey Wins The Derby, Nacho Man & Cornelius

Happy happy funday Friday!!

I’m feeling fine, fresh and dandy today and I hope you are to. You deserve to feel good and so I present for your enjoyment the latest instalment of Tony Adams Magic.

Yesterday was the 20 years anniversary of ‘The Donkey Wins The Derby’. Arsenal beat smurs in the fa semi final one – nil with big Tony Adams scoring at the back post from a Paul Merson free kick cross. Andy Linighan drawing Mabutt away.

It was fair retribution from when they lucky beat us in 1991 and although we didn’t go on and do the traditional double as we would have done in 1991, we went on to complete a unique F.A. Cup and League Cup double. We were the first club to win both the cup competition ever. It was a lot tough back then with both being contested by the top clubs. A fantastic achievement and another example of Arsenal being the greatest football club in the world ever. Accept no substitutes.

That FA Cup triumph facilitated us playing and winning the Cup Winners Cup the following season and all because Big Tone got his beautiful head on the end of that beautiful cross.

Nacho man has been talking about the difficulty of finding his feet in the premiership. I think he’s done a good solid job so far and has been a solid addition in an ever solidifying defence. We’ve obviously got to get a bit to go yet but this season we have looked (so far) looked quite decent at the back in patches.

In other news Garth ‘Cornelius’ Bale has twisted his ankle. Painful and debilitating for him and robs the lilywhites up the road of their only half decent player. The Choke Is On!  T.C.I.O! © #thechokeison

To capitalise on any dropped points we have to win our games and that must be our only focus at the moment. A tricky game at west brom tomorrow awaits. Pumpkiii and I will be doing a pre game podcast so come back tomorrow for that.

Have a great Friday.
