HELLO, HELLO WE ARE THE ARSENAL BOYS

Morning all, I hope you are ok and looking forward to the weekend. As I’m sure you are well aware we have the north London derby this weekend. In a way its bad that the match is on Sunday at 16:00, it is a long time to wait, being nervous, counting down the time and constantly checking news now for any team developments etc will probably send me mad. On the other hand If it was a early kick off on Saturday and we didn’t get the result we want it would have the potential to ruin the weekend. “Them’s the brakes”.

I have been to white hart lane twice, it is a intimidating place to go to. The intimidation in part comes from the personal, mental build up to the occasion but its also due to the oafs and scumbags that inhabit that part of London. Both times we have walked all the way down The Seven Sisters road. Its a fairly ugly place, its run down and smells like the plague. There is a pub along the way called ‘the golden stool’ which made me laugh though. Along the way, there are lots of fans from both sides and a heavy police presence. the second time I went we got caught up in a huge Arsenal crowd who were circled by police and walking very slowly towards the stadium. The Arsenal fans were chanting anti-spurs songs, like “we won the league, at white hart lane...” and the scumbag spurs fans were scowling, cursing and generally frothing at the mouth. The Arsenal crowd was being held up by the police and were walking so slowly we were at risk of missing kick off. So my mates and I bravely decided to break away from the crowd and make our own way to the stadium. We made it intact and in time.

Here is a picture of us outside the stadium, on the first visit:

Over the two times I have been to the lane there were a total of 11 goals. Sounds great on paper and for a neutral I’m sure it would be value for money. For a fan though the two matches couldn’t stir up more polar sets of emotions. The first time was a 5-1 defeat. The second time was a 1-4 win. Leaving the first time was horrendous, we were badly beaten and deeply gutted. After the second visit it was difficult to contain my jubilation, although I had to as it was a long walk back to safety and there were fights and scuffles breaking out intermittently.

Here is a picture of us when we were 1-4 up. The TV camera turned to the crowd and who was there? Me, Snipster and G:

We have won the league there twice, most recently in 04 and I doubt the traveling fans will let the home team forget that. The match holds huge importance in any season, this season however it has extra significance. We need the points, we need them to drop points, we can make this happen on Sunday. Its as simple as that.

There is team news that Sagna is unfit for the match so Jenko will probably start at right back. He will have his work cut out for him as he will be up against the Humanzee. It will be tough for him, but if there is a player on the pitch who will be extra up for this match it is Carl Jenkinson.

Sagna missing out is a shame, last season he broke his leg there and the scum fans spat at him while he was being stretchered off. Classy bunch. I’m sure they normally get called a bunch of something quite different.

It is 11 v 11 and anything can happen. Who ever takes to the field for Arsenal, we need to perform. We need the points. We have a 100% record in the North London Derby this season so lets maintain that dominance.

Competition time: As mentioned in yesterdays blog we are running a competition. The prize is this defaced Arsenal - Adebayor shirt. He left us to join Man City for £25m, since then he has proved an excellent sale and a huge amount of money for a complete and utter idiot of a man and player. Now at spurs, where he cost them £5m and that even looks a lot for him in current form.

The question is: In what competition did I travel to white hart lane twice to see Arsenal v spurs?

A) The Premier league
B) The Carling Cup
C) The Champions League (ha ha ha ha I know, I know)

Please send your entry to tonyadamsmagic@gmail.com and we will contact the winner and arrange delivery of the prize.

That's it, back tomorrow with the “We’re on our way” podcast

Have a good one.
